Whew!! We are here and ready to call it a day. We arrived into Belize City heavy laden with more suitcases than we could manage. I definitely broke a sweat waiting to go through customs with my three suitcases. We each had two checked bags and a carry on. My carry on was a full sized 21" roller bag. But the results were worth every bead of sweat. We are providing supplies for the school and focusing mainly on setting up a kindergarten room for next year. After dinner, we pulled out all of our supplies and took pictures of all our gifts!! We then filled up three large roller bags to take to the school in the morning.

On the way to Corozal from Belize City, we passed several trucks filled with sugar cane. This is a major industry here in Belize. The trucks were coming from two districts, Orange Walk and Corozal. This reminded me of harvesting of the corn in central Illinois. George, our driver and School Board Director and founder, told us that they produced brown sugar and a fine sugar (powdered sugar?).

This is smoke from one of the sugar refineries. So the next time you use a little packet of sugar, think about all the smoke that was created to make your life a little sweeter.
